How the E-Newsletter System(TM) came about
When I left my job to start my business, I had a big problem. I knew
what I wanted to do (web site development, at the time), but I had no
idea how to get clients.
All the other professionals I spoke with told me I needed to spend lots
of time cold calling strangers, a thought which frankly made me feel
sick (and still does). Im just not a natural salesman, and I couldnt
imagine doing it.
So I started sending e-mails to people I knew. Not trying to sell them,
just staying in touch and keeping them informed regarding the Internet
(my passion, and a very hot topic in 1999). I didnt see this as a
